Distributing is a tricky aspect of being a self-published author.

When publishing traditionally, the distribution of the work is organised by the publishing house.

When self-publishing, organising the distribution of the book is the individual's task.

Some distribution methods used by self-publishers can involve selling from a personal website and shipping manually or running distribution through a company like Amazon.

At the time of writing this article (2024), the ASA (Australian Society of Authors) offer some distribution services as part of their membership program.

This could be a helpful starting point for first-time self-publishers.
